Sustainable Product Design Program Track Lead
James Mercé Edwards is an educator, communications consultant, and ecosocial systems designer with a passion for social and environmental justice. As a media creator for over twenty years, James has treated subjects from whale rescue to school desegregation to teen pregnancy for such varied clients as The Smithsonian Museums, the National Park Service, and Al-Jazeera. As a lifelong educator, he has designed and taught curricula on Media Production for middle school through college; served for nearly a decade as Director of Training for The Empower Program, an organization dedicated to combating the culture of violence, and has taught Karate, Aikido, and Yoga since 1987.
James has a degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs with a minor in Art from Occidental College, studied media production at American and George Washington Universities, and is currently pursuing an M.Sc in Integrative Ecosocial Design at Gaia University.
